Renault unveils the Kangoo Maxi

The new Kangoo Maxi is set to go on sale in Europe in April, and with the new addition, Renault now has a range of three vans in the Kangoo range, the standard Kangoo, the shortened Kangoo Express, and the new longer Kangoo Maxi.

The Kangoo Maxi measures 4600mm in length, 384mm longer than the normal Kangoo van. Most of the extra length has gone into the wheelbase, which now measures in at 3100mm, making it even longer than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Cargo space has also been increased, with the Kangoo Maxi now boasting a load volume area of 4.6 cubic metres, and a payload of 800kg. With the front passenger seat folded down, the load length can be increased from 2.1m to 2.9m.

The Kangoo Maxi is expected to use the same range of engines as the standard Kangoo, including the 1.5-litre dCi diesel unit that produces 85bhp. Renault also offers the option of an additional rear bench for passengers, which can be folded down when required.
