Porsche engineering buys Nardo Test track in Italy

The Nardo Ring in Italy, is one of the world's most impressive closed courses. There are two parts to the circuit. In the center there are the usual hairpins, elevation changes, and corners, you’ll normally find in a test track.
The outer ring, is a total contrast. It looks like a very thin but wide onion ring, so wide in fact it can be seen from space. Top Gear UK took the Lamborghini Aventador, Noble M600 and McLaren MP4-12C to the 12.5km long oval circuit during the first episode of season 18, to drive each machine at the highest speeds they dared.
Porsche has been testing its upcoming 918 Spyder at said track for a few months now and recently announced to be purchasing the track. According to Engineering Chief malte Radmann,
"Thanks to the mild climate; the Nardo proving ground can be used throughout the year in three shifts around the clock, seven days a week."
As of May, the facility will be taken over from Italian firm Prototipo SpA by Porsche Engineering, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Porsche AG. Porsche will use the facility for vehicle development and testing, and refers to the takeover as part of Porsche’s “Strategy 2018” business plan aiming to sell 200,000 Porsche annually by 2018.
