Gordon Murray is moving production of its T.50 supercar

Gordon Murray Automotive's (GMA) newest Group headquarters in Highams Park in Surrey has started playing host to production of the T.50 supercar.
The decision to move the production of the T.50 from Dunsfold Park to Highams Park was done to boost manufacturing efficiency. The move allows the Dunsfold plant to streamline carbon fibre monocoque production for T.33 prototypes and future models.
The monocoques, which are typically used for development, testing and homologation-related crash testing, will now be produced on-site, accelerating the T.33's pre-production processes.
Furthermore, moving production to the new site will not only bring manufacturing efficiencies, but also provide the production team with the latest technologies and optimised production layout. In turn, GMA states that this helps to boost cross-team collaboration and production quality.
Moving forward, GMA intends for all of its future models to be produced at Highams Park. The company is currently on course to complete all 100 exclusive T.50 customer cars, upon which production of the 25 track-only T.50 Niki Lauda models should commence.
Beyond that, there are plans for the production of other models, such as the T.33 Spider and also the T.33 coupe.
