Citroen has given the thoroughbred lines of the C2 a slight facelift. C2 sold more than 480,000 units across Europe since its launch in 2003. The front end gains several changes, designed to highlight the dynamic and elegant exterior lines that have contributed to the C2's success.
From May 2008, depending on the country, the C2 diesel range will be available with the 110 bhp HDi engine and particulate filter. Allied with a well balanced chassis setting remarkable standards in dynamic behaviour, this powerful but frugal engine consumes just 4.4 l/100 km for CO2 emissions of no more than 119 g/km.
The Stop and Start system will still be available on the C2, with the 90 bhp 1.4i 16V engine. This affordable technology delivers real benefits in terms of acoustic comfort and vibration control, economy and environmental protection.
The C2 is now available with the 1.6 litre 16V HDi 110 engine, which made its debut in Citroën's supermini range on the C3. This new powertrain joins a range that already includes six engines:
• | five petrol engines: 1.1i (61 bhp), 1.4i (75 bhp), 1.4i 16V (90 bhp), 1.6i 16V (110 bhp) and 1.6i 16V (125 bhp); |
• | one diesel engine: HDi 70. |
Developing 80 kW (110 bhp DIN) at 4,000 rpm and maximum torque of 240 Nm at 1,750 rpm, the HDi 110 DPFS engine delivers a fast response with a linear increase in power and excellent acceleration from the lowest engine speeds. For strong bursts of acceleration, the "overboost" function kicks in, delivering up to 20 Nm of additional torque.
We think this peppy little hatch should come to our local shores. At a lower price of course.
