Cycle & Carriage Singapore has opened its first Electric Commerical Vehicle Hub. The facility, located along Ubi Road 3, is aimed at providing fleet clients with the convenience of a one-stop shop for electric commercial vehicles (ECVs) and their related services.
As a multi-brand distributor, Cycle & Carriage carries a lineup of ECV models, such as the Citroen e-Berlingo and e-Dispatch, and Maxus eDeliver 3 and T90EV.
Apart from being able to check out various ECVs, fleet owners can also avail of specialised maintenance and aftersales services. The ECV Hub offers 20 service bays, which are manned by Cycle & Carriage's certified EV specialists.
Other ECV-related services offered include the configuring of vehicles' cargo spaces, and exterior customisation so the vans reflect the desired corporate branding/identity.
The eDeliver 7 is another option that fleet owners seeking a medium-size electric commercial vehicle can consider
During the event, Cycle & Carriage also debuted the eDeliver 7, the latest addition to the Maxus ECV range. Sitting between the eDeliver 3 and eDeliver 9, the eDeliver 7 has a cargo volume of 5,900 litres, while its maximum payload is rated at 1,500kg.
Equipped with a 77kWh battery, the eDeliver 7 has a range of 320km. Charging the battery from 20% to 80% takes eight hours with an 11kW AC charger. With a 90kW DC charger, it takes 43 minutes.
The eDeliver 7 is relatively well-equipped, too. For safety, it comes with Auto Emergency Brake (AEB), which detects obstacles and automatically applies the brakes if the driver fails to react. Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist are also standard - these could help prevent a mishap given the vehicle's sizeable footprint.
The eDeliver 7 is equipped with safety and driver-friendly features, such as an electric parking brake with auto-hold function
On-board creature comforts include a 10-way adjustable driver's seat, room for two passengers, plus a 12.3-inch infotainment system, which provides telephone connectivity and access to navigation apps via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The new one-stop facility is timely, too, as a growing number of business switch from petrol and diesel commercial vehicles to electric ones. Schemes such as the Early Turnover Scheme (ETS) and Commercial Vehicle Emissions Scheme (CVES) have helped convince enterprises to make the switch.
CVES currently provides a $15,000 rebate to buyers of electric commercial vehicles upon registration.
