Chinese firm takes record journey on an electric scooter

China-based manufacturer of electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, and electric tricycles TAILG has announced that it has snagged the Guinness World Record title for the 'longest journey on an electric scooter'.

The record was completed by the firm's Chitu electric scooter. Riden by Qin Haidong, the scooter is said to have completed a total of 31,516km. The journey saw the scooter travelling through a total of 181 cities over a period of three months from June to September 2023. The challenge is also said to have seen the scooter cover a host of challenging terrain including steep slopes and winding and rugged cliffside roads.

The new record comes after the firm clinched a world record for the longest distance covered by an electric scooter on a single charge, at 656km.

TAILG is said to see a daily production output of over 33,000 units of its electric mobility solutions from a total of nine manufacturing bases across China.
