D1Spec coilovers - Coiling over for a rolling good time
08-12-2014  |  's Review
D1Spec coilovers feature a monotube absorber/damper - an active pressure valve - and they come with 9kg front and 7kg rear spring rates together with 30-way adjustable shocks as well as urethane upper mounts. This will provide great flexibility for the consumer to tweak the preferred 'stiffness'. Read More »

I installed this on
Subaru Impreza

Review
2 Rear shocks made noise at low speed around 3rd month mark.
Return to shop to ask to rectify at the 11 month mark.

Replaced only 1 shock. And said it is goodwill.
The other shock is not replaced and no intention to do any rectification.
Was shocked to hear that only replace if oil leak and no stock for shock too.
Replacement shock is 250 each.

What I like
Friendly mechanics.

What I do not like
Product quality issue.
Warranty 18.months claimed but never commit to resolve problem.
And pls do not blame it on my ride. Dun be dumb.

This is a coilover that does its job, and that's about it. Car control is now more sharp and quick. The nose of the car no longer dives under hard braking and you can take a corner at speed with confidence.
The adjustable damping does work, the softest setting is comfortable, but due to this it is easier to bottom out the shock when going over humps or uneven roads at speed.
Most usable setting is 4-8 clicks from softest for rear and 10-14 clicks from softest for front. Below that it is too soft and handling is affected, defeating the purpose of a coilover.

Overall a good set for introduction to coilovers.

After considering a few brands and as well as recommendation from my relatives, I've decided to go for D1 Spec Coilover. I would say that I did not regret buying and it's really worth buying. I feel how comfortable and stable my car is right now! There's reducing of the body roll. My relatives and friends are surprised at how smooth and comfortable the ride. The feeling is so peaceful and very consistent with lesser rebounced. Overall, A good quality coilover!

What I like
Very consistent with lesser rebounced

What I do not like
It is not very cheap

Had just installed the D1 Specs coilover at Fabulous X and stayed throughout the whole 3 hours. The mechanic is good and very professional in the installation.

Finally had my car lowered until 2 fingers and looks sporty now. Had the stiffness tumed to 15-20 turns. Now looks great with my 17" sport rims and 255/45/R17 tyres.

What I like
Coilover is smaller and slender as compared to my original. First time installed today and had a good ride at high speed and cornering. As compared to last time, now the car is very stable and I had good control over corners.

What I do not like
Nothing.

The D1Spec Coilovers comes with 2 types of designs, MonoTube and Twin Tube design. Both the Coilovers designed for the Comfort and Stability. Suitable for your daily ride and weekend tracking. Both the Coilovers has the Height adjustment function which is from 30mm to 90mm. So you can actually adjust to the most suitable heights for your car without worrying about scratching your bodykit or the bottom of your car, when you are going through a Muti-Storey car or even the Hump on the road. They come with 9kg Front and 7kg Rear spring rates. The Cold-Bent spring is design to optimize the balance between the performance and comfort. So you don't have to worry that you might lost your comfortable ride after changing away your stock Coilover. When you are going through a bend, the force increased yet coilover gets harder to reduce the body from rolling and maintain the smooth ride quailty. Most importantly is that, there won't be any disturbing noise going around when you are driving. And you don't have to worry if you think it might be too soft, the hardness can be adjustable to suit your like.

What I like
The handling and stability

What I do not like
Feel bit uncomfortable especially when going over the hump for the first few weeks after installation.

Been using quite a few brands of coilover, most of the coilover tends to have a very hard and high rebounced rate, as i have 2 kids, i can see that they dont really like to sit in my car and i see them bouncing too due to the high rebounced rate.

I chosen D1Spec coilover and this is my best choice. My kids feel comfortable too. Imagine a 6 yrs old kid will ask me, daddy, did u repair your car already? cos i dun jump up and down from your car anymore!

What I like
comfort but stable

What I do not like
Nothing at all!

Bought D1spec coilover from Fabulous-X like 1yr+ ago, it still serve me well. No disturbing noise or anything. Very comfortable without very stiff feeling. Hardness can be adjustable to suit ur liking. I have used 3 - 4 other brands of coilover. So far D1spec is the 1 i love most! Very good and reliable coilover i ever used. If i happen to change car, i will change to D1spec again.

What I like
Non Pricey. affordable price and best of all, 18 months warranty.

What I do not like
long waiting time for my case

I have install this D1 Spec Coilover for my ride. I can feel the car is more stability and comfort when driving. It does what it clams. Twin tube design damper for gets harder as the force increases, reducing body roll and still maintaining smooth ride quality.

What I like
The stability when I drive.

What I do not like
Coilover is pricey in general.
