D-Tec is an advanced, low dust, ceramic formulation which has been developed exclusively by TRW for those customers who want cleaner wheels but who also want to maintain the high braking performance standards needed to stop the vehicles of today.

Low Dust

A colour spectrophotometer was used to measure the amount of dust deposited on the wheel. After three cycles of testing, D-Tec pads showed industry leading performance when compared with low metal materials, whilst still maintain excellent, quiet braking performance with good pedal feel and consistent braking power.

Quiet Braking

D-Tec’s advanced ceramic material has been developed to minimise or virtually eliminate brake noise. Advanced shim technology further helps to dampen the vibrations in braking which can cause squeal. Test results against original equipment and key competitors show TRW D-Tec brake pads emit noise levels far below any other pads.

Wear and Performance

• Wear - No customer wants to be replacing his brake pads more than he needs to. TRW’s D-Tec pads have a lower wear rate than a normal low metal pad, but are also kinder to the disc rotor, causing less wear than normal brake pads.

D-TEC brake pads come with wear indicators/sensors when supplied at OE, allowing the fitter to be confident that the new pad is a like-for-like replacement of the original pad.
