Stunning little machine for our roads | Posted on 02 Sep 2022 |

Review
Facelifted last year with a new wild look and yet still comes with an excellent and punchy drivetrain.
Do you really have to go German if you want premium?
What I like
Let's start with the looks: This new Peugeot 3008 looks wild. There's a grille with fins that extend out onto the front bumper, and quite impressive taillights. You can sit and look at their detailing for quite some time.
The interior is not as whack but you still get an interesting talking point to start off: The tiny steering wheel that sits below the instrument cluster. The layout works well, visibility is great and the 3008 feels quick enough when you're darting about, even if the steering rack itself could be a little faster.
And the drivetrain is also a very sweet point. Once up to speed this 3008 feels perky enough and quick to go, even despite the tiny engine capacity.
What I do not like
What's there not to like? That styling probably won't age too well, and the interior can be a bit cluttered. But you get this to make a statement, and what's trending always changes.
Fashion statement aside you'll still be left with a very competent machine that will bring you from light to light in quick fashion.

What I do not like

The Peugeot 3008 absolutely blew me away!
Looks amazing with the latest facelift, interior is very premium and much luxurious than some of the german entry level models. Drive is very smooth and the 1.2l turbo engine is surprisingly powerful. Putting aside the french brand misperceptions, the purtech engine once won engine of the year award + Japanese gearbox found in Toyota cara + long proven 3008 model (one of the best selling car in Europe) all combine to become one of the best value premium car in the market.
Bonus point: road tax is crazy cheap

The Peugeot 3008 has been updated into a rather wild thing to look at. There's a crazy smiling grille up front, with horizontal elements that spill out into the bodywork, and a handsome tailgate at the rear, with very expressive tiger claw taillights.
What I like
Overall if you're ok with a soft and sorted ride in your crossover this is one that you should not miss. Its mighty comfortable to sit in, and cabin insulation levels are high.
It also is a pleasure to motor. There's healthy torque so don't dismiss the measly 1.2-litre capacity engine. And the unit develops quite a nice soundtrack if you push it as well.
And in the cabin there's the rather interesting cabin design. It is starting to look all a bit familiar now, but those new to Peugeots will still walk away quite impressed.
What I do not like
The car setup here is definitely designed to isolate rather than involve. The steering is mute, and the ride is outright woolen.

Having read and heard a lot about Peugeot 3008 on all articles, I decided to pay a visit to showroom to experience it ourselves. And I must say that the car is very impressive and win our heart totally.
The design of Peugeot 3008 is very handsome and modern inside-out. The exterior is undoubtedly refreshing with new uplifted signature front grill design, and I'm sure it will stand out among a pool of cars in a car park or and a head turner while on the road. The interior i-cockpit design is also very impressive and well specs.
The steering wheel design is interesting, and smaller than other cars, need to get used to.
Other than the comfort, 3008 loaded with lot of safety features. 6 airbags, all round sensors, emergency brake assistance, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring are just part of its premium features.
What I like
Larger Sunroof/Moonroof
A look that turn heads and stands out
Huge boot and auto tailgate.
Quiet cabin
fully customize digital cockpit
Wireless charging
What I do not like
Nothing as off now..

I have noticed quite alot of Peugeot 3008 on the roads, but just saw this new one on the road the other day and had to go to the showroom to have a look.
The new front end and rear LED lights make the 3008 look different and nicer than the previous one.
The test car I tried was the higher, Allure trim with panoramic sunroof and Nappa leather seats, very comfortable and nice to be in! The steering wheel design is interesting, and smaller than other cars, need to get used to.
Overall, the ride is comfortable, interior feels luxurious and high quality, nice car to have.
What I like
The looks are much nicer than before, LED lights are very good looking. Comfortable ride, quite spacious, well made interior.
What I do not like
Although it has 129 horsepower, and makes it a CAT A car, the old one had a 1.6 engine making alot more power. There should be a 1.6 version so people can choose.
Review
Having to own a Peugeot Partner for 7 yrs, i decided to get the facelifted 3008 Allure and owning it for almost 8 months, I'm pretty satisfied with this SUV. Peugeot has come a long way to be in this competitive SUV market and i can say, they have indeed improved in terms of design language and get to know and understand the needs from consumers around the world. 3008 is really handsome and handling is one of the better ones in the market for a conti. Seriously, for a 1.2T, this puretech 3cyl engine surprised me as i tght that it will be extremely underpowered and likely having vibration issue like my previous BMW F46 with a few times getting the engine mount replacement done within the 4yrs ownership. However during my test drive, this 1.2T Puretech mated with Aisin 8 speed (japan) transmission really changed my mind instantly. Engine is smooth and responsive for a 1200cc and for city driving, its more than enough. The small steering wheel with i-cockpit is amazing and kids love the sun roof. Being a rear Torsion beam setup SUV, Cornering and handling is surprisingly crisply good or i can say even much better than a lot of jap SUV and the steering feel is great and connected.
Pro:
a) The exterior and interior design
b) Very affordable roadtax
c) Good space for a 5 seater SUV
d) Extreme big center console with aircon cooling.
d) Nice 18inch alloy wheels fitted with Michelin's SUV tyres
e) Full tank can achieve 500-530km (90% city, 10% Highway)
f) Peace of mind with 5yrs warranty
g) Autofrance service advisor are helpful and knowledgeable.
Cons:
a) Expensive due to increasing COE price
b) Sad that 1.6T puretech or the mild hybrid models is not available
c) For the car price paid, Sound system is very basic 6 speaker setup and does not comes with the premium 10 speaker FOCAL premium system. However, the 3008 basic setup is slightly better than those on some jap suv.
d) No auto braking system but only warning signal at i-cockpit
e) Only 180 deg rear camera
f) My SE claimed 3008 can achieved 20km/L...Maybe 100% highway driving
Hopefully, this 3008 will last and will be as good as my Previous Peugeot Partner
