Mazda competes in the big league | Posted on 07 Jan 2024 |

Review
Both literally and metaphorically. This Mazda not only puts the grand against the typical big SUV makers, but also offers a premium build quality and refinement that should see it stealing customers from the typical German marques.
What I like
Build quality and refinement as mentioned is excellent. There's also plenty of space in the CX-60 - a product both of its sheer size, as well as the clean layout of its dashboard and centre console.
A comfortable ride and sensibly weighted controls all make the CX-60 an intuitive and natural drive despite its sheer size. You'll find it more than competent at clearing those long highway miles.
What I do not like
If you're not going anywhere in a hurry the CX-60 has just about decent performance. Could use stronger brakes though.

Review
Mazda's CX-60 looks strong, and comes with rear-wheel drive. But its the fit and finish and overall build quality of this SUV that should have the premium manufacturers worried.
What I like
Just like the Mazda 3, this CX-60 is quite the looker. I was expecting a little more, sure, but its overall still quite the handsome thing.
The cabin build quality is astounding. Everything just feels tight. And its not too cluttered like what other manufacturers are starting to do with their SUVs, so kudos to Mazda for keeping their vehicle UI top-notch.
Powertrain is smooth enough.
What I do not like
But the SUV could use a touch more power, a touch more braking strength. It's not a great car to pilot. But then again, this is a big SUV.

I enjoy how the car drives and the interior is comfortable with 5 adults seated in the car. Will definitely recommend this.
What I like
I enjoy the way the car drives and the space it has to offer. It just rides so comfortably around bumps.
What I do not like
The car can consume fuel pretty quickly for day to day driving without any spirited driving involved.
Review
Went by to catch a look and also test drive the NEW CX-60 from seeing an ad online.
First looks was impressive of the body contour, similar to CX-8, only that its a 5-seater.
Inside is a new interior layout compared to other current models. With the new and updated console, its simple, straight forward and easy to navigate to what you are looking for in it, which is good as its less distractive especially when you are driving.
Both driver and front passenger has electric seats, which is rare to Japanese cars.
And an added feature is different keyfob can remember what settings you did for each memory too. Comes with panaromic sunroof too.
This model comes with many safety features, close enough to many of the conti makers out there, like adaptive LED lights, front collision assist, lane keep, lane departure (with 2nd warning too), blind spot monitor, rear traffic alert, driver attention and improved 360 camera too.
For their improved 360 camera, I must say is a good initiative that it tells you your bumper via a whiteline than rely only on sensors, serviing a better option to know when you are parallel park or reverse park.
The drive, it was a smooth touch and go with the new gearshift, comes with auto-hold function which was good to have as well. HUD is there as usual part of Mazda's models. And a responsive 8 speed gearbox too.
I must say cruising was very smooth when in NORMAL drive, whether is a 2.5L or a smaller like 2.0L, pairing with a 8 speeder gearbox, but when it comes to overtaking, its laggy and not responsive when you throttle it up, due to the lack of turbo in it.
Nimble handling too when swerve to lane changes cause of the firm steering.
Engaging in SPORTs mode makes no difference in throttling or even overtaking, compared to other modes.
Overall, its a good car to have for its comfortable drive and well-packed features, if you can forgo the needs of having a turbo and in exchange for a thirsty 2.5L to have.
What I like
Responsive 8-speed gearbox
BOSE sound system
Simple but refined interior with touch of luxury
Easy to use and navigate console
Rear Wheel Drive
Electric seats at both front seats
Improved 360 camera for ease of use
Many other safety features similar to many conti makes
Responsive Kick-boot Electric Tailgate
Comfortable drive
What I do not like
Thirsty for a 2.5L, a 2.0L with Turbo sounds better
Throttle laggy due to no turbo
Hefty price tag due to high COE
SPORTs mode not responsive when engaged
