New Leap of Faith!`
Into my 2nd day as a new Caddy Maxi Owner! 8)
I traded in my Previa which was due for scrap in Sep 17 with VW after paying a visit to the showroom 2 months ago. The offer from VW for my previa was too good to refuse. Unlike any other used car dealer who would offer me just the paper value, I ended up with more than 5K more than paper value :)
However, it was not an easy decision, having been a former Jetta owner (2010 model) who gave up after less than 2 years of ownership due to faulty gearbox issues. We all know the famous DSG problems that plagued VW from 2011 till 2014. Having said that, I still made a good deal when I sold my Jetta.
But what made me decide on the Caddy was simply because it was very attractively priced, plus it was (still is) the only MPV in the 120-130k price bracket, with a big big boot to use for my family (wife, 3 kids (5 years and below), my domestic helper, plus my dear mother-in-law)
When I collected my new ride yesterday.. The same gushing feeling came back. Seamless gear transmission, powerful acceleration, quietness, great handling.
It might not be able to sit 8 persons as comfortably as the Previa, but hey, it is a good 55 to 60 grand cheaper. Made the pain of replacing my old previa go away almost immediately.
I am keeping my fingers crossed, and hope no major problems will befall this new ride. Its like a new leap of faith . To be honest, I hope not to see so many of these caddies on the road in the coming months - (so that I can have exclusive feel mah) but I certainly doubt that will be the case.
Cheap pricing for the amount of space u get, equivalent to a van space, has rear air con, spacious 3rd row however i hate fabric seats. this is no Subaru STI!
The caddy has enough space for my whole family. Me and my wife have 3 kids and 2 golden retrievers. All of us plus our luggage fit comfortably in this practical MPC on our weekend trip to Penang!
I love that it is kid-friendly as well. The interiors are solid and won't get destroyed by our little imps :P The ability to change seating arrangements is also a plus, we can switch them up everytime the kids get restless or if our four legged friends want some fresh air.
It might not be the coolest looking car but i like how practical it is, especially with all the extra storage compartments!
