I went to the Alexandra showroom a few weeks ago for just window shopping. Frankly, the Mitsubishi Outlander was not even on the viewing list. Since there are 3 showrooms in a row, I went into Mitsubishi eventually. I went to the Alexandra showroom a few weeks ago just window shopping. Frankly, the Mitsubishi Outlander was not even on the list for viewing. Since there are 3 showrooms in a row, I went into Mitsubishi eventually.
Once I stepped into the showroom, I was greeted by a Sales Consultant (Bryan Tan), who provided us with superb service throughout the whole process. After listening to my needs, he recommended the Outlander. When I saw cosmic blue Outlander, I was stunned by its beauty! Though the red colour model was on the brochure, I just like the Blue colour one better! Go to have a look yourself!
Of course, I went to view the usual suspects around the areas. At the end of the day, my heart still yearn for the Outlander! To me, itS just much more macho compare to the rest of SUVs. In fact, my wife also love it! So do my boys! Hence, do go to have a look at the Outlander and see if you like it!

Acceptable SUV based on Good Pricing and Owner's Needs `
|
|
Test drove this SUV early this year before deciding on another more powerful and better handling SUV.
Handling is reasonably light if you are not particular about driving dynamics. Vague steering feel and significant body rolls around corners does not instill too much confidence to drive it hard. However this car should be a composed cruiser along straight motorways.
Engine is sufficient to power this SUV if you are not expecting sporty performance and don't mind the relatively louder noise when revved higher in the rpm range. Road noise insulation not extremely good but acceptable for car at this price range.
Pricing is quite competitive for this SUV. I guess if the carmaker brand was still as competitive as the rest of the bunch, it might be priced higher. Also this is the only new model coming out from the carmaker in so many years that it should be priced competitively to be the revenue generating model. Features in this car are rather comprehensive, except for no folding side mirrors which not all people will using it anyway, except for parking at those tighter lots.
I really did considered this car based on its cheaper price, but in Singapore, most people like me can only afford one car, hence the handling/performance and worries about the survival of this brand in the competitive automative market that really pushed me towards another SUV which have similar features but much better handling and performance. My thoughts was that if this is the one and only car that I can own, then it should meet my fundamental list of requirements.

Nice 7-seated SUV with comprehensive features built-in `
|
|
Based on the high COE price level, this is probably one of the most affordable 7-seater SUV in the market. It is packed with all the nice gadgets that you get in most continental cars. Overall it is a nice and quiet drive except going over humps. You will feel it. The 3rd row is mainly for kids or small size ladies. I have been driving for a week, the fuel consumption is on the high side (7-8km/L on 2WD eco mode) but have to take into consideration that I am driving 100% on urban & no highway.
