Wearnes to host drive-thru food donation event

Wearnes Automotive has announced that it will continue to be the venue partner for the 2024 Heart on Wheels initiative in support of local food charity Food from the Heart.

Food from the Heart is an independent, homegrown food charity in Singapore with a mission to alleviate hunger by providing consistent, reliable and sustainable food support to the less-fortunate. It works with grassroots organisations, schools, and welfare homes to reach out to lower-income individuals and families, and is said to have distributed $7.23 million worth of food to over 59,300 beneficiaries in 2022.

Wearnes is calling all to head on over to 45 Leng Kee Road come 2 and 3 March 2024 to donate foodstuffs to help vulnerable communities cope with rising living costs

This 2024 iteration of the Heart on Wheels initiative will be the second that Wearnes Automotive is hosting at its premises (read about the 2023 event here that raised a total of 22,246 food items and over $52,000 in funds).

This year's event is aiming to raise 25,000 food items and $150,000 in food donations to support the residents in the Lengkok Bahru area, and will take place on 2 and 3 March 2024, from 9:00am to 6:00pm each day at 45 Leng Kee Road, Singapore 159103

Those looking to contribute to the food drive are encouraged to donate items including biscuits (in 200g to 500g packages in assorted flavours), bread spreads (including peanut butter, kaya, fruit jam, and hazelnut), canned meat (including sardines, chicken, or pork), cooking oil (in one-litre bottles), instant beverages (including coffee and tea, less sugar), instant noodles, Milo, oats and cereals, as well as rice (in packages weighing one kilogram to 2.5kg).

Those who are unable to head down on the two days may also sponsor a food bundle via Food from the Heart's page here. Food from the Heart is a charity of IPC status and all cash donations are eligible for 2.5 times tax deductions.
