Back in 1982, the first Golf GTD was revolutionary, with sporty tuning, the styling of the Golf GTI and low diesel running costs. The new GTD is based on the Mk7 Golf, and naturally, is the most powerful GTD ever.
Mated to a 'traditional' six-speed manual gearbox is a 2.0-litre turbodiesel powertrain producing 181bhp and 380Nm - by consuming just 3.78 litres of fuel every 108km and emitting 109g/km of CO2. A six-speed DSG is provided as an option, returning 25.5km/L while emitting 122g/km of CO2 for the five-door model. Century sprint takes just 7.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 228km/h.
The Golf GTD comes with smoked LED tail lights along with chromed dual tailpipes, 17-inch alloys and a large roof spoiler among others. The interior sports the famous tartan sports seats, a black roof lining, sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals. The Golf GTD houses GTD specific gear lever, trim strips and instrument cluster.
