Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition hits the UK

The increase in power comes about via a modified engine management and turbocharger system, a new sports exhaust with reduced back pressure and the ability to run on 98-octane fuel. Vauxhall has also fitted the Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition with a mechanical, multi-plate limited-slip differential for improved traction, while new Bilstein springs and dampers, a lowered ride height (20mm up front, 15mm at the rear) and lighter but more powerful Brembo brakes aid handling. The car’s ABS, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control systems have also been recalibrated for the Nurburgring Edition’s setup.
Cosmetically, the Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition features stainless steel dual exhaust tips, newly designed forged aluminium wheels in high-gloss grey, and ‘Nürburgring’ logos on the B-Pillars and front spoiler lip, while there are also two new colours to choose from, apple green ‘Grasshopper’ and red ‘Henna’. The interior gets black and red ‘Nürburgring’ lettering on the sill plates and front Recaro seat backs, plus white stitching on all seats, as well as the handbrake and gearshift console.
The Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition features a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that has been upgraded to produce 205bhp and 250-280Nm of torque, up from the standard Corsa VXR’s 192bhp and 230-266Nm of torque. This enables the car to go from 0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds, and hit a top speed of 230km/h.
