The Maxus MIFA 9 premium electric MPV is in Singapore

Do you want to save the earth while hauling a bunch of friends and family out on a road trip? With the Maxus MIFA 9 electric premium MPV that has just been launched, you can! 

Cycle & Carriage Singapore invited the media to Sentosa for the introduction of the Maxus MIFA 9 in Singapore. The MIFA 9 is the first fully electric MPV that has been built on a dedicated EV platform to be introduced to the market here. Unlike MPVs that share a platform with commercial vehicles, the MIFA 9 offers much more on all fronts.

With a length of 5,270mm, the MIFA 9 allows seven passengers to ride in comfort

In case you are wondering, MIFA is an acronym for Maximum, Intelligent, Friendly, and Artistic. These words describe what the MIFA 9 offers that is different from others. The MIFA 9 seats seven and does so with maximum comfort thanks to the amount of space within. With a height of 1,840mm, the MIFA 9 can enter most sheltered carparks locally while still having plenty of headroom within. Its 5,270mm length also makes it longer than other MPVs of its size, allowing it to offer plenty of room.

With 241bp and 350Nm, the MIFA 9 is a large EV that's light on its feet - it also has an impressive range of 435km!

Despite weighing in at 2,400kg, the MIFA 9 is rather light on its feet thanks to its 241bhp and 350Nm output - it completes the century sprint in 9.2 seconds and has a top speed of 180km/h. With a 90kWh battery, its range is a very useable 435km (WLTP) - just like the interior space, there's plenty of range as well.

On the 'Intelligent' front, the MIFA 9 has been equipped with plenty of intelligent features that you'll enjoy in modern cars. The centralised 12.3-inch infotainment display allows you to control various features, such as the suite of driving assistance along with settings for lighting, the multi-zone air-conditioning, sound, and others. There is also a 220V power outlet for the second-row passengers to juice up their devices - you can even charge your laptop on-the-go.

The comprehensive suite of driving assistance features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, 360-degree Panoramic Camera and Blind Spot Monitoring. And above all, the MIFA 9 has been built with 80% high strength steel to offer exceptional impact protection, allowing it to clinch a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

Second-row passengers get to enjoy the comfort of captain seats

Much of the design of the MIFA 9 places an emphasis on user friendliness. This can be seen from the touchscreen control, as well as the luxurious features on board. The second-row captain seats within the MIFA 9 are ventilated and have massage function as well. With a low floor and grab handles on the B-pillars, getting in and out of the car is easy as well. A panoramic roof and 64-colour ambient lighting further add to the comfort as a passenger or a driver in the MIFA 9.

Lastly, the 'A' in MIFA 9 stands for Artistic, and it is clear to see from its unique and futuristic design. Up front, the MIFA 9 doesn't have the typical sloping front end that is found on many MPVs, instead it has a traditional sedan-looking front section, albeit sitting much higher. The dramatically-designed front bumper is complemented by the sleek plastic grille in the middle, flanked by a pair of slim head lights.

The rear is decorated with a truly stylish taillight unit that spans across the entire width of the rear. Pop open the electric tailgate and there's plenty of space - enough to accommodate four suitcases without adjusting the seats.

The Maxus MIFA 9 is now available for viewing and test drive at Cycle & Carriage's showroom at 239 Alexandra Road.
