Project Thunderball, Wiesmann's new purely electric roadster made its debut near Stuttgart at the V8 Hotel Motorworld during the Wiesmann Owners Club's 20th anniversary event. The event saw Wiesmann owners from across Europe gathering to celebrate the brand and featured over 90 classic Wiesmann models including the MF3, MF4 and MF5.
Being Wiesmann's first electric car, the brand aimed to retain the traditional hallmarks of their company in Project Thunderball namely performance, driving pleasure and styling that is unique to Wiesmann cars that have gone before it.
Performance of Project Thunderball is particularly impressive, with a target range of 500km and highly advanced 800V high voltage architecture providing 92kWh of battery capacity. The twin electric rear-mid mounted motors will deliver 671bhp to the rear wheels and 1100nm of torque, propelling the car from zero to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
Project Thunderball's body will be crafted from carbon fibre, bringing down its weight to a little over 1,700kg. This will certainly help to enhance agility and handling during more spirited driving. The car is also currently reported to be priced from $425,147.
