In place of the honkin' V10, Wiesmann simply shoe-horned BMW's latest go-fast powerplant under the bonnets of its MF4 and MF5.
The new twin-turbo 4.4 litre V8 engine makes 407-hp in the MF4. And the MF5 gets the M-spec 4.4 litre, which makes 555-hp - a considerable jump over the V10's 507-hp.
The MF4 will now hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, and a top speed of 289 km/h.
The MF5 will hustle to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. And if you keep the go pedal down, the new twin-turbo V8 will propel the MF5 all the way to 310 km/h. Which is 2 km/h more than the V10 could manage.
So, it seems that every cloud does have a silver lining.
