Paris Preview: Range Rover shows off the 2011 Envoque

They say that this is the smallest, lightest, and most fuel efficient Land Rover ever.

We think it looks like a Fendi handbag™with wheels. But, maybe that's the point.

Back in July, Range Rover hired Victoria Beckham, wife of football star David Beckham (and former Spice Girl), as a design consultant. Her job is to provide design advice for upcoming Special Editions. Including a special ed Envoque.

So, it's clear that Range Rover is going after a decidedly feminine market with their new crossover, which is probably why they're touting the Envoque's use of recycled materials.

Plus, they're even calling the trim levels, "design themes". Of which, there are three available™

"Pure" is apparently the base model, and comes with neutral colours to "highlight the pure, simple forms of the cabin architecture".

"Prestige" is the mid-range model, and features unique 19 & 20-inch wheels, and a two-tone interior that is described as being "an indulgent interior which is almost entirely leather wrapped".

"Dynamic" is the top-line/sporty model. It gets unique bumpers, sills, front grille, and pronounced tailpipes, along with a sports-themed interior, with perforated leather, and "unique sports detailing".

Powering Range Rover's new "utility coupé" is a version of Ford's turbocharged 2.0 EcoBoost, called the Si4. It makes 240-hp, which feeds the permanent AWD system through a six-speed automatic.

The Envoque will be available at Range Rover stores in the fall of 2011.
