MG has launched the new MG 4 EV, alongside the facelifted MG ZS SUV here at the 2023 Singapore Motor Show.
Based on the firm's EV dedicated Modular Scalable Platform, the MG 4 is said to represent a new exciting chapter in the firm's history, offering customers a new and exciting exterior design alongside improvements to driving performance and overall quality.
The MG 4 certainly looks nothing like its current stablemates, the MG 5 and MG ZS. Up front, the MG 4 sports angular head lights, alongside strong vertical air intakes at the sides, which flank a prominent lip spoiler.
And at the rear, a hunkered-down stance is said to be offered, thanks to a full-width LED taillight design, coupled with what the firm calls a Twin Aero rear spoiler.
This spoiler, couples with an active grille system and the aerodynamic wheel covers on the 17-inch rims all help to optimse the aerodynamic performance of the MG 4 EV.
And within the cabin of the electric crossover, owners will find a 7.0-inch digital driver's display, coupled with a 10.25-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
A premium six-speaker audio system also features, alongside a wireless smartphone charger here.
Powering this MG 4 is a 64kWh battery, which allows the car to offer a range of 450km. Charging meanwhile, can be done at speeds of up to 150kW via a direct current source, which will see the car reaching an 80% state-of-charge in just 35 minutes of charging. This battery powers a 201bhp electric motor that offers a peak torque of 250Nm.
Also new from MG at the 2023 Singapore Motor Show is the facelifted MG ZS SUV.
The electric SUV now comes with a new grille at the front, redesigned to make the car more recognizable as an all-electric vehicle.
Behind this grille, the charging port has also been moved slightly, now behind one side of the grille as opposed to resting directly behind the vehicle's grille. The head lights, taillights and bumpers of the vehicle have also been altered.
But more important for the updated car is what's underneath that sheet metal.
The MG ZS now has had its battery capacity raised slightly, so it now stands at 51kWh. Power output has also been raised to 174bhp, while peak torque is now 280Nm. The WLTP range of the MG ZS, meanwhile, now stands at 320km.
In the cabin, owners of the new MG ZS will get to utilise features including an all-digital virtual display, a wireless smartphone charger, rear air-conditioning vents, as well as MG's new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
