Mercedes-AMG and sacai launch new capsule collection

Mercedes-AMG and Japanese luxury fashion brand sacai have unveiled a new capsule collection, said to take after the Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 AMG also known as the 'Red Pig'.

The predecessor of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class entered the 24 Hours of Spa in 1971, achieving a second-place overall finish against popular expectation.

The Japanese fashion label's first collaboration with a luxury automobile brand spans ready-to-wear staples and accessories and has been launched at the AMG Speed City in Las Vegas, but will also be available for purchase online via American luxury department store chain Nordstorm's online store here.

The jackets, t-shirts, tote bags as well as a jumpsuit of the collection feature dynamic badges that are said to be a direct reinterpretation of the Red Pig’s exterior. The capsule collection was also launched alongside a bespoke wrap for the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT. Designed by sacai, the wrap also takes after the Red Pig, and finishes the AMG GT in a mirrored chrome finish, featuring a three-dimensional Red Pig motif.
