Mazda Singapore has launched the new MX-30 all-electric crossover here at the 2023 Singapore Motor Show.
The Mazda MX-30 is designed to offer right-sized all-electric commuting for the city, and this comes courtesy of a 35.5kWh battery, which gives this electric crossover a claimed 224km range. This battery, in turn powers a 143bhp electric motor that produces 270Nm of torque.
Alongside this right-sized battery capacity are compact dimensions, with the Mazda MX-30 measuring in at 4,395mm long and 1,795mm wide, which should mean easy navigation across the tight streets of any city.
Offering easy access to into this compact crossover for all are what Mazda terms are Freestyle Doors. These Freestyle rear doors are hinged at the rear, eliminating the need for any centre pillars, for an unobstructed opening into the car. This easy access is further aided by doors that open up to 82 degrees at the front and 80 degrees at the rear.
Mazda states that safety is uncompromised despite these doors, as the necessary reinforcements to support body rigidity and safety are built into the doors themselves.
Step within and you'll find that the Mazda MX-30 makes use of cork on the lower section of the centre console where the cupholders are located. The use of this material not only recalls Mazda's history as a manufacturer of the material, but also allows the section to double as a holder of small items thanks to its non-slip nature.
The cabin is also said to make use of soft-touch fabric, made from recycled PET bottles, alongside a denim-like fabric that makes use of a high-percentage of recycled thread.
A 7.0-inch touchscreen control panel, a first in any Mazda, is also aid to offer safe and intuitive operation of the air-conditioning system in the cabin of the Mazda MX-30.
The Mazda MX-30 comes to Singapore complete with safety features including Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic alert, Lane-keep Assistance, and Radar-based cruise control, amongst other features, as standard.
Charging the MX-30 will take a claimed 25 minutes for the car to reach an 80% from a 20% state-of-charge when charging via a high-speed direct current charger. The Mazda MX-30 is offered here with five years of servicing a five-year warranty, as well as an eight-year warranty on its battery and a free wall charger.
