It was an idea that ostensibly reflected the convergence of two very current issues.
In a climate of restricted social interactions brought about by the pandemic, as well as the increasing prevalence of electric vehicles, Hyundai Electric Motion was born last year to allow members of the public contactless test drives of Hyundai's electric car models. Contactless, in this case, means that sales representatives are not present during the test drive.
The initiative was initially rolled out with selected Shell petrol stations to give drivers an idea of EV ownership through pre-booked 60-minute test drives with the Hyundai Ioniq Electric or Kona Electric.
Now, Komoco Motors has announced that it is collaborating with charging station operator, Charge+, to extend Hyundai Electric Motion to condominiums around the island.
Residents of Domus Condo, which is located in the vicinity of Novena MRT station, were the first to enjoy the scheme under the expanded partnership, with One Canberra Condo following behind. Thus far, reception has apparently been very positive.
The Hyundai Electric Motion initiative is set to continue across more condominiums within Charge+'s network, with One Balmoral, Sky@11 and Latitude announced thus far. While there are currently no slots available for booking (at least not at the time of writing), interested drivers can continue to watch the space at the dedicated website here. As for what follows after, further updates will be provided by both Komoco Motors and Charge+.
