Honda is also recalling 26,000 units of its CR-Z hybrid sports coupe, with 5,626 of them being sold in the US. The Japanese carmaker cites a problem with the CR-Z’s engine control unit (ECU) as a basis for recalling the hybrid-powered coupe.
Finally, Honda is also recalling 80,111 examples of its CR-V small SUV made in 2006 and sold in the US in order to replace the power-window master switch as it can allow moisture from interior cleaners to gather and, over time, the accumulated residue may degrade the electronics and even cause a fire.
The majority of the cars recalled are the Jazz/Fit, with 960,000 units of the hatchback involved. The cars affected were produced from between October 2005 and October 2009, and were sold mainly in China and other Asian countries. Honda says that the problem with the Jazz/Fit were malfunctioning power window switches.
