C&C launches the 7-seater All-New Kia Sorento just before the year ends

After a hiatus of three years, the Sorento is back in Singapore, this time with a more exciting 2.4L 6-speed automatic transmission compared to the previous 3.5L 4-speed AT. Another improvement of the new Sorento is the monocoque chassis which differs from the previous ladder-frame design, enabling a smoother and more comfortable onroad drive, which is excellent for the urban environment.

A key selling point for the new Sorento is that it is a 7-seater. This is a very important feature as it enables the Sorento to compete not only within the SUV segment, but in the MPV one as well.

"The Sorento is positioned as a highly versatile 7-seater SUV, so for the family man who seek some style and individuality but yet is unwilling to compromise on family needs, the Sorento would be the perfect choice," Senior Manager for Kia Operations at Cycle & Carriage Kia Pte Ltd, Mr Chin Kee Min, commented.

"This is because the Sorento, like the previously launched Cerato Forte and Forte Koup, exudes lots of personality and is definitely a good looker. Plus, it is also equipped with a whole lot of features not commonly found in cars in the same class and at that price range, something Kia cars have come to be known for".

Some of these features include button start, dual climate control, USB and iPod connectivity, third-row aircon vents, 6-CD factory audio, steering wheel controls, automatic headlights, etc for both the EX and SX trims that the Sorento comes in. The higher SX trim also has twin sunroof, roof racks, HID Xenon lamps with washer, rear LED lamps, 8-speaker with central subwoofer and amplifier, side and curtain airbags and many more.

Though the Sorento on sale in Singapore is available in one engine option - the 2.4L 6-speed automatic transmission in 2-Wheel-Drive, 4WD options as well as the 3.5-litre engine are available on an indent basis.

Prices for the Sorento start at S$79,999 for the EX variant and $89,999 for the SX variant.
