Behold the RUF Bergmeister
22 Aug 2022|915 views
RUF, manufacturer of highly exclusive and bespoke sports cars, has revealed two special vehicles: The Bergmeister and the naturally aspirated RUF SCR, both of which has never been seen before by public eyes.
The Bergmeister is inspired by past greats such as the legendary Porsche 906, 909 Bergspyder and 718 RS 60 Spyder hillclimb cars. Mounted in the rear is a dry sump, air cooled 3.6-litre turbocharged flat six engine producing 450bhp and 599Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission.
The interior of the RUF Bergmeister is focused with only the essentials needed for a intense hill climbing session The roadster is also fully carbon skinned, combining classic design and modern engineering in a single package. In the spirit of a hardcore hill climbing car, black alcantara lines the entire interior, coupled with grippy bucket seats. An alcantara clad steering wheel rounds out the focused nature of the interior.
Also present at Montery Car Week is the RUF SCR, which is now dressed in a modern package using RUF's latest technology and engineering. The carbon fibre monocoque and bodywork provide great strength and minimum weight, while an integrated roll cage and rear space frame provide rigidity.
The iconic RUF SCR is designed as a state of the art sports car for those who prefer the soundtrack of a classic Porsche's naturally aspirated engine. The 4.0-litre flat six produces 510bhp at 8,270rpm and 469Nm of torque and is routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual.
