A new Suzuki Ignis is set to arrive in the U.K. next year
27 Jul 2016|2,494 views
A new Suzuki Ignis has been confirmed to go on sale in the U.K. in 2017 as a compact crossover. Rather than replacing the ageing Suzuki Jimny, the Ignis will be an all new model in its own right, further expanding the brand's range.
With bold, retro-influenced styling, the new Ignis stems from the iM-4 concept seen at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, sharing its chunky muscular bodywork design and large, high-set headlamps.
Suzuki's economical 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine (as seen in the latest Swift) is likely to be offered, as is a brand new 1.0-litre turbocharged 'Boosterjet' petrol. A mild or full-hybrid version is possible, too.
The Ignis will be available with a choice of two or four-wheel drive, and will take on the Nissan Juke and Fiat Panda 4x4 in the small crossover market.
