Performing coilovers. | Posted on 29 Aug 2013 |

Had these coilovers installed with much ease at one workshop. The performance of my car have been greatly enhanced upon installing these. My ride now responds more to uneven road surfaces though, and overall ride is definitely more bumpy. The car is more planted through corners with less roll but there is still some roll at higher speeds. This might be due to the tyres which have a softer sidewall. Basically, there will be sacrifices upon getting better 'track-worth' performance. Based on my personal opinions, the car is still quite comfortable and will not punch your kidney like some may suggest. Humps have to be taken slower compared to stock.
What I like
The cornering ability of my ride is now fabulous! Puts a smile to my face while taking corners aggressively.
What I do not like
Expect less comfortable rides with these TEIN Mono Flex since they stiffen up your suspension.

These coilovers weren't as harsh as I expected them to be even at 0 front and rear EDFC (stiffest setting). Sure I felt every minor bump in the road, but it still wasn't the harshest ride I've had. Anyways, I set them at the softest settings for street and the ride I got was OEM shock quality...except for the cornering. Boy the cornering capabilities on these TEINs are good! I was consistently hitting corners at 100/120Km without any problems, and the car handles much more predictably now. On the stiffest settings, those corners become nothing. I definitely like this one as I drive and corner aggressively.
What I like
Amazing cornering handling; much less harsh than expected; car handles more predictably

I just replaced my coilover last ngiht. Was previously using HKS Hipermax II coilover. I was expecting that MonoFlex would give me a harsher ride but it is actually more comfortable and absorbs more bumps. I believe the comfortness comes from MSV, a new tech developed by Tein.
What I like
If you are looking for a good street/track coilover I would recommend this to anyone. It definitely wont disappoint you.
What I do not like
The weight of MonoFlex is abit heavier but I guess it has something to do with MonoFlex stell body.

It handles itself very well on the Pasir Gudang and Sepang tracks and eliminates all the bodyroll on my car. Braking, cornering and handling are all spot on with these coilovers. When I'm driving around town, I set it to the 2nd softest setting and it's a very good balance of handling performance and comfort. It's actually more comfortable than my old coilovers. It also looks and feels extremely solid and well built (it's made in Japan), but of course, all the good stuff comes with a massive price tag.
I installed this on
Mitsubishi Evolution

Before I install TEIN Mono Flex, I was kind of worried and expected the ride to be harsher due to the stiffer spring rates and as well as the comments that I'd read, but I was so wrong! It is so comfortable and the absorb bumps is so much better than my previous HiperMax II. From my research, I believe that the comfortness come from Micro Speed Valve system that developed by TEIN. It handles well on corners due to the stiffer spring rates and it's perfectly suit the street driving and the road condition in Singapore. Highly recommend and you definitely won't regret it!
What I like
It is so comfortable and the absorb bumps.
What I do not like
It is kind of heavy.
