Review Volvo's XC40 is green and now comes in at a more sensible power output which means you won't be paying through your nose when renewing your road tax.
What I like It's a smart looking thing, even if the design of the XC40 has remained basically unchanged for many years now.
As you'd expect, the interior is clean and functional, an appealing touch when plenty of rivals are challenging each other to deliver more flash.
But what will really impress here is the overall build quality. The doors shut in a reassuring manner, and the damping on the switchgear all scream quality in a way that shames rivals.
What I do not like Needs a more inspiring exterior.
Review Volvo's electric XC40 may not look like much, but don't lets its dull exterior fool you. It's an excellent car all around, and in may ways, the car to get in the segment.
What I like Sure, there's an iX1 in the wings and the EQA is more flash both inside and out. But the Volvo XC40 Recharge to appeal with those with a more discreet taste.
And boy, does it reward. Build quality here is crazy high. All the buttons feel well damped, precisely engineered, and the way the doors shut, the manner in which the car steers, all feel very very premium. It's the sort of high quality that just makes you feel very confident on the road.
Power here is decent if you opt for the 227bhp model. It's zippy, although nothing really worth shouting about compared to other electric cars.
The car is prone to a bit of boominess in the cabin as the suspension does its work. Overall a very nice car to steer and own that should serve does that don't need to flaunt what they own.
