Just like those moka pots, this thing will brew you a quick drive to work thanks to its compact form and torquey output.

What I like
That 50kWh battery isn't anything to shout about anymore, but for a car this small, is actually quite alright. And trust me, you won't want to be waiting around for long as you charge up this car either.

It's fast, even if the figures don't really suggest so. The tall ride height and just a touch of vagueness in the steering just add quite a bit of fun when you give it the beans in this Mokka.

What I do not like
Beware though, space at the rear is pretty sad in this. Ferry anyone other than kids and they will find kneeroom lacking.

What I like
Sharp looks and a nice looking interior. The instant torque and the car's small size lets you zip around traffic and up carparks with no issues whatsoever, and there's an ok suspension so you can simply drive over humps without needing to slow down too much.

50kWh battery is ok. Most electric cars will do better but if you think of this as a small city commuter its not too bad. Your charge times are reduced I guess with the smaller battery?

What I do not like
Infotainment is crisp, if a little unimaginative, and the rear needs more knee room for passengers.

For those considering to drive an EV, the Opel Mokka-e should be a strong contender - Even more so if you're looking for a stylish and affordable one.

At this price range, the Mokka-e is facing tough competition from the BYD E6, the MG-ZS EV and the Peugeot e2008. And despite all the similarities (e.G. Driving range, speed, price), one thing's distinctively different for the Mokka-e, it's style. It's a small 'SUV' that stands tall and striking.

However, the design is not without its drawbacks. With reviews citing concerns over its practicality in the back and boot, I still find it acceptable, especially if you're not expecting anyone to be at the back often.

Power and driving comfort wise, it's more than enough. With sport mode, you'll reach the speed limit before you know it, and zipping around town has never been more enjoyable - Especially with how silent an EV is.

Opel's a relatively new brand in SG, but it's certainly one that is a fan-favourite in its domestic market (it's brand is still Vauxhall in many parts of Europe). Still, it is still an intercontinental car comes that with its premium feel and perks - carbon fibre style, a responsive infotainment system, and a full suite of safety features you'd expect.

Overall, the Opel Mokka-e scores a 5/5 stars in my heart at this price point for an EV.

For this price, it's still an entry-level EV, and definitely leaves some to be desired, especially in terms of its fittings at the back (i.E. No aircon vents in the back), and quality of life improvements (i.E. A more 'useful mobile app', wireless apple carplay/android auto functions) or wireless charging ports. However, it has more than what you'd expect for an EV at this price.

What I like
In some places, yes. There's a competent drivetrain here, for example. Strong enough in its default mode, and willing when set in 'sport'. Ride quality is also respectable. The Opel Mokka-e is sufficiently settled by the standards of the segment, which is to say it can be lived with, even if its not exactly great next to any thing with a longer wheelbase.

Cabin comfort is also high. You sit tall within this small vehicle. And there's small windows exaggerating the sensation of speed as though you're darting about in your little pillbox.

With a battery capacity of 50kWh you'll also be able to expect some decent range and charging time. Use this for your inner-city drives, rent something else if you're targeting towns further away up North.

What I do not like
There's plenty of reasons not to opt for this Mokka-e however. If ferrying passengers is part of your repertoire, you'll note that there's precious little knee space for friends here. The door sills and low roof also make getting in at the back a fuss - you won't see this in the Peugeot 2008, even though both cars are basically the same underneath. Go figure.

Be careful with how you clean the gloss black touches in the cabin. They are soft plastics.
