25 May 2023  |  Kia Reviews
The Polestar 2 may have sleek design on its side, but the Kia EV6 counters with more family-friendly points.

Here's a review of the Kia EV6 GT Line after owning it for a year.
The Kia EV6 GT Line offers a futuristic driving experience with its sleek design, fast charging technology, instant torque, and advanced tech features like remote parking and smart parking assist. However, some drawbacks include the absence of V2L power outlets, a head-up display, Kia Connect, and software updates for the infotainment system absence in the model being brought in here. Despite these, its smooth one-pedal driving and spacious cabin make it a compelling choice.

What I like
Pros:

Sleek futuristic design.
Fast and advance 800 volt battery charging technology.
Instant torque and fast acceleration.
Full of tech features like remote parking and smart parking assist with different auto parking modes.
Great cabin space.
Smooth one-pedal driving experience, even better than the Ioniq 5.

What I do not like
Cons:

The models available here are without internal V2L power outlets, although there is 2 USB C port at the passenger seat
No head-up display.
Lack of Kia Connect although it seem like high end model
Lacking of software updates for the infotainment system after a year for this model, eg addition to sound of nature, missing wireless CarPlay updates etc where such added features available in most other countries.

Very impressive drive. Driving it for 2 weeks so far very satisfied. Had a polestar 2 previously. This performance is way better. As for comfort of this is way off the roof. Interior is really spacious and beautiful.

Do look for Dom Wong as he is very helpful with all our enquires even after sales.

Forget the Seltos or that Sonet. Kia's new EV6 is something else. It's refined, well built, and just an utter peach to drive. This is a new Kia.

What I like
Comfy is how you'd describe the ride in the EV6. It absorbs ruts on the road like a proper premium car, and still does not leave the drive completely isolated from the drive. Feedback from the steering wheel is decent by the standards of today's electric cars.

There's plenty of space for rear passengers as well, thanks to the roof design that only slopes down just after passenger compartment.

And with a 77.4kWh battery you can expect to drive quite a fair bit between recharges as well. 800V architecture means you'll be able to utilise the best EV chargers as they arrive here in Singapore.

Overall a nice and high-quality product.

What I do not like
Rotary knob is a little irritating to use when you've got to adjust your car while parking, or need to make a quick getaway.

The EV6 is a huge step up from any Kia you've yet seen. It rides, drives, and feels like a proper premium vehicle from inside. If you're not too sure about making the switch to electric, this could be the car that will push you over.

What I like
Ride quality - the EV6 rides like a true blue premium vehicle. It's soft over bumps, irons out road imperfections, and does it all in a surprisingly quiet manner.

And the cabin also feels excellent - there's of course, ventilated seats, but also a premium-looking steering wheel and great damping behind all the switchgear.

What I do not like
What is there not to like?

This is not the Kia you're familiar with. Looking at this and the Sonet, it's hard to believe the two are from the same firm. This is a new, luxe and polished Kia.

What I like
Ok, cabin is a bit of a mess - by the standards of a premium car (remember, this thing comes with a premium price) the infotainment layout and its display colours and contrast levels need a bit of a boost. The cabin also looks a bit messy with the number of buttons all over.

Get over this and there's seats that offer up just the right support and soft upholstery, efficient cooling thanks to ventilated seats, clever driver assistance systems, and the drive mode button is right at the steering wheel, which is a nice touch.

The steering wheel looks classy, and space at the rear is also great.

Ride in the EV6 is alright, it irons out most of the roughness of the road without feeling too busy, and yet is not exactly soft so the car doesn't feel vague on the road.

What I do not like
It looks too much like a conventional hatch maybe.
