Jaguar's wonderful foray into the SUV market | Posted on 28 Jul 2021 |

Having owned and driven V6 cars, I was apprehensive about moving to an SUV with a small 2.0 liter turbocharged engine.
Personally, I thought the exterior of the F-Pace was very handsome and sporty looking. The ride and handling was superb as you would expect from a Jaguar. I was pleasantly surprised that this small 2.0 litre engine was very powerful and responsive with the ZF 8-speed gearbox.
I love the higher ground clearance, its big boot/cargo capacity and the better fuel consumption. The infotainment system is very user-friendly with a huge display. You can even update your maps and software yourself over the internet.
The tactile feeling of the interior is a bit plasticky for those pre-2021 models and the regular (non-adaptive) suspension may be a little hard.
What I like

Test drove this new SUV from Jaguar sometime ago.
First looks is impressive indeed for a used to make only sedans brand to come with this design for their SUV. A head turner for sure when you drive on the roads.
Interior was a well-liked luxury as per a Jaguar where it can stand side by side to its competing brands.
The intuitive controls on the console is friendlier than some of those I come across from the brands mentioned above.
The start of the engine is quiet but you can feel the beast is anytime ready to take off. A typical Jaguar with the gear-knob rises to tell you "I AM READY to be in Drive mode anytime".
The take off is smooth and power similar to XF and XJ that I have tried before where the cat or rather beast PURRS its way off but you are certainly in full control with the little heavy steering given.
Gear changes are smooth and quiet where you don't feel a thing at all. THUMBS UP !
As and when you want to throttle, the almost immediate responsiveness at normal drive is there for you, no need to have any adjustments to the settings to other modes.
Cornering is also fantastic, thanks to its AWD ability to handle.
Only that when you need to have some of its useful packages, you might need to calculate the financial part of it as the base model comes almost empty with it, not even a panaromic roof or roof rails as standard.
Otherwise this is a considerable model to take for its luxury and performance that is on par with the same class from its competitors.
What I like
The take-off responsiveness
Smooth gear changes
Friendly console use
Head turner design
What I do not like
No soft door close to extend its luxury
LED lights special order or pay more to have than as standard
No panaromic roof as standard
Need to "TOP UP" a lot for their many different useful packages

The car looked nice from the outside.
The interior was another matter. The leather looked cheap as was the finishing. This is not what you expect in a car of this price and prestige. The seats were too hard.
The engine was responsive and powerful but way too noisy.
What I like
Powerful
Fast and relatively light.
Good use of space. Car is sufficiently compact but not tight.
What I do not like
Noiisy engine.
Interior not up to the XJ standard. Despite use of leather, came across as cheap.
Not the most modern interior design.

This car turns heads everywhere I go! I'm loving the attention I get from the ladies. It's one sexy beast.
The interior's not too shabby either. It's a well-built cabin with a whole lot of comfort. You can tell Jaguar really paid attention to the details with this one.
I love how I can make use of the V6 to overtake those annoying road hoggers with ease. The sound of the exhaust feels like it's always just about to eat the car in front of me.
What I like
Handsome looking car
V6 engine
Premium and spacious cabin
What I do not like
Boring looking rims
Not a low profile car
High chance of getting a speeding ticket

Upgraded from E Pace. Luxury and powerful mid-size SUV. Personally, ride n feel better than X3 and GLC coupe.
