Good size family car with powerful engine and good built. `

After driving 3 years of bmw 2 series GT. I needed more space. Got it before CNY, Sharan doesn't disappoint, with all 7 individual seats (5 backseats with isofix) up, still plenty of boot space unlike the 5+2 mini mpvs. The noise isolation also as good as my bmw. It also comes with 2 child booster seats built in, family ready. The head unit is dated with wired apple CarPlay and android auto with 6.33" Lcd but sufficient for my needs, resolution is ok and screen is bright. Still no auto folding side mirror. It's engine is definitely powerful with 200+ bhp n 350nm torque. Overtaking is a breeze. Sadly this car has been discontinued by VW. My car is 2020 stock (high line with huge sunroof). The SEAT Alhambra is the exact same car but has slightly cheaper interior (all black plastic). Highly recommended for bigger family users who want European quality and powerful engine, get it before it's gone. Cheers.

Power mpv! `

Booked one after test driving may cars, from the likes of alphard/vellfire to grand scenic/c4/touran. Must say this car has superior sound proofing compared to the rest. Has very powerful engine from the GTI!! Handling is impressive, only touran out handles this. Went for this instead of the alhambra due to the better deal SE gave. Must admit this is a similar car to the 2.0 Alhambra but different specs. This had a sunroof where alhambra did not. Did also try kodiaq but third row was too squeezy for adults. In the end, it was between this and the Alhambra.

What you would expect from a German automaker `

Tested this and the Odyssey back to back With honda cvt having problems occuring, the 6-speed wet clutch Dq250 is much more reliable. Additionally, it is more responsive. Coupled with the GTI engine and solid body, this mpv makes for a spirited drive. Sound proofing is excellent, just enough for families, not too slow like an mpv with torsion beam (XD). Great soft touch materials you would expect from vw grp cars. Super solid doors and great safety rating, unlike a japanese mpv with paper doors and poor safety rating!!

Expensive MPV `

Sharan being a continental car, is rather expensive in its segment though it is the most powerful car in its class however being a family segment car, I don't think there is a need to be this powerful and alot of money is being wasted on many of its useless and impractical specifications and fittings. The drive is smooth, pickup is good but too strong for a family, good insulation, expected interior but outdated exterior. The leg space and sitting space is not as expected spacious given its sheer size, more cramped compared to odyssey.
