Avoid  Posted on 10-Oct-2023
Agree with the members here on MBM. Their price is definitely on the high side as I think their overhead is too high with their fancy waiting area. Their mechanics seems to be poorly trained and I was recommended to change a lot of things when I sent my conti car for servicing. A lot of parts was in fact changed recently with another workshop but they did still tried to get me to change and was also quoted way more expensive than the previous workshop. Recommended to avoid this workshop. There are plenty of alternatives workshop nearby that can do a better job.

MBM wheelpower aftersales  Posted on 04-Feb-2023
I realised their Modus operandi, you will be impressed by the glitter and service, and most probably because your car is new or almost new(with free service & warranty from PI). TILL your car warranty expires and free services used up, they will tell you LOTS of things needs replacing etc. Had shocks replaced in 2021, and now early 2023 they tell me leaking oil.. BS! The SA couldn't answer why so fast leak, I told him off that they used inferior parts for high margins. That's how they sustain all those glitter and service with high margins. It's called the red herring trap. Lure u with pomp & smiles.. But BEWARE of the after ...

Went for 35000km servicing today. This is the watsapp I got shortly after sending my toyota harrier in.

Hi boss ,I am Andy from MBM wheelpower .Regrading about your Toyota Harrier after overall checking and found below items need to change

Oil change service $141
Air filter (dirty)$35
Cabin filter (dirty)$35

Gearbox oil $116.50

Front wiper (not clear)$60

Vehicle battery (weak)$195

Rear absorber (leaking)$380

All 4 tyres (worn) $270x4

Total after gst 2185.48

Please let me know if can proceed

He sent me 2 pictures (first 2)
I only decided on eng oil and gearbox oil change.

When I went to collect my car, I feedback to the counter staff on the following :

1. I just changed my cabin filter not long ago. Why am I being asked to change again? Did mechanic really check before asking me to change.

2. Quotations way too high (mind you, i m driving a toyota !). Eg. $60 for wiper??? Really ??? Even if it is original???

See the 3rd picture of my tire I just took by myself. Does it warrant a change ????

Well, i will definitely not go back to them after today. Only reason I had started off with them was they had a tie up with parallel importer Prime whom I had bought my car from.

To let them service your car or nor, u be your own judge.

Went for my first 1,000KM servicing at MBM Wheelpower Sin Ming Autocity this morning. Was served by Mr Keong and Ms Lilian. Excellent service. They were patient, professional, understanding and genuinely helpful. The lounge was luxurious and well-maintained. The workshop was clean, orderly and professionally managed. Overall, it was an excellent customer experience today. Keep up the good work MBM.

I have a silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class. It took a side swipe when a motorist tried to overtake me on the highway and misjudged the timing for completing the manoeuvre. The motorist ended up hitting my car's rear right side door. I decided to replace the entire door. The good people at MBM Wheelpower advised me to restore the door without buying a new one. They put my car on this special bench called Car-O-Liner. This is one of MBM Wheelpower’S signature services. Car-O-Liner is a car frame alignment bench designed to restore the chassis to original structural specifications within 0.5mm tolerance. The good people at MBM Wheelpower removed that dented rear right side door from my car's frame and properly restored it back to shape. Then they resprayed that door and took great care to make sure that the door's colour tone perfectly matched the entire car's paintwork.

I was not expecting a miracle but when they handed my car back to me, I absolutely could not tell the difference. And, MBM Wheelpower ensured that my car drives in a perfectly straight line and that the steering feels precise and on-track.

My S-Class and me, car and driver... A happy couple.

This is my first time at MBM Wheelpower. And I must say that first impression lasts. Immediately, I felt comfortable in their brand new customer lounge where I can wait in comfort and style. A lady offered me some beverage and I got down to doing some work. There is free wifi and a powerpoint at every table for my laptop. How fantastic is that! I would highly recommend MBM AutoCity at Sin Ming.

Changed an alternator pulley with them some time in May.

The mechanic used brute force to try to remove the old alternator pulley causing the tool bit to break off inside the alternator (i kept quiet since he mentioned no impact on alternator, being gullible i accepted)

Next he installed a wrong sized alternator pulley cause the alternator to smoke and subsequently jam. More waiting time for correct sized alternator pulley to be installed ( i did not know at that time that could have cause issues with the alternator)

About one month later, i encountered alternator failure and towed the vehicle back to them, they told me alternator needs to be replaced ( and charged me $90++ just for diagnostic fees) , Because my car is still under warranty with another workshop and alternator is covered under warranty i decided to tow back to my warranty workshop instead.

At my warranty workshop, they told me the cause of the alternator failure was due to the wrong method and wrong sized alternator pulley used by M*M Wheelp0wer, and because i allowed other workshop to service my car, i could not claim warranty and had to cough up cash.

When i tried to claim back the amount from M*M Wheelp0wer and request 70% Damages instead of the 50% They offered, they told me ...Sorry ...Now one cent also wont give you cause not our fault. ( you can flame me for not accepting the 50%, but the thing is i REQUESTED not demanded 70% Instead)

You have been warned regarding this workshop who is also a SGMERC forum sponsor, it seems to me their reputation is worth less than the amount they could have reimbursed me.

I did my first 1K oil change at MBM. Total experience was excellent.

1. I drove in clueless and immediately someone waved for me to park aside.
2. Seat covers were put on and Service Advisor appeared, asking some simple questions before taking over my ride.
3. Being my first time there, I was curious to see what will be done to my ride. SA said I could stand somewhere safe and look. No BS at all unlike my previous experience at some agent workshop.
4. Waiting lounge equipped with refreshments and reading material.

It was pleasant talking to the SA, Mechanics and even the counter staff. Thumbs up.

No longer a customer after 3 years  Posted on 03-Dec-2015

I have had to use MBM Wheelpower for all my car services for 3 years to keep my car warranty valid. Throughout the 3 years the service was decent enough that I returned for my post warranty servicing in April this year.
During this service MBM changed my air-cond filter and topped up the gas. When I retrieved my vehicle, I realised that the aircond was no longer cold. I called MBM up and was advised to let it run a little longer as it was a hot day. After about a month and several long distance drives, I realise that the aircond was unable to get cold especially on a hot day. So I brought the car back to MBM. They did a comprehensive check on my aircond system and claimed that there were two very small holes in the compressor and therefore the whole aircond unit needs to be changed for around 2,000SGD and it will take 2 days. At the same time, they topped up the aircond gas and the aircond was cold again.
The service manager presumptuously asked when I could bring my car in for this aircond replacement. He also claimed that the aircond gas will leak and it will no longer be cold in two weeks. Well it's been almost 6 months now and my aircond is working fine!

Last week, they even had the audacity to call me up to book a routine service appointment. I had to tell them off that I am never coming back to their outlet due to poor service and an attempt to rip off a client through false diagnosis.

To make things worse, I looked through the previous services invoices and realised that there was a discrepancy in prices. For instance, I was charged more for engine oil change in 2012 than in 2013, when exactly the same brand of engine oil (Mobil One) was used. When queried, the service manager said that he's giving me a 'special price'. They also love charging 5-6 SGD for windscreen wiper top-up, even when the windscreen wiper fluid is full.

I realise that MBM probably don't have to try too hard to retain customers as they are contracted with several parallel importers to provide the routine services to keep the 3year warranty void. But I am very sure this practice can't last forever and they will soon be found out. I am definitely not coming back.

Bought my 2014 Mercedes E250 and warranty is with MBM wheelpower. Been with them for the past year and experiences have been good. Couple of months back, there were some problems with my 7G gearbox and MBM rectified the problem under warranty. Service advisors are professional and place is clean. There's a rest area with beverages served , TV and clean toilets. Price is reasonable. Highly recommended.
