Prior to bringing in the car, I had a few email queries. Eugene (whom I understand is a part-owner of the company) was super responsive and would reply me within the day. At no point did Eugene mention that he would be the tuner.
When I dropped off my car at the workshop on Tue 4 Oct, the counter staff mentioned the tuner wasn't available for a chat. I requested the counter staff for the tuner to give me a call back during the day, but there was no call. The next day on Wed 5 Oct, I was informed that the car was ready for collection, but I was only able to collect the car on Fri 7 Oct when I returned from a short business trip. At the point of collection, I again requested to speak to the tuner, only then did the counter staff give me Eugene's email address, i.E. He was actually the tuner. I found this a bit strange.
Over the weekend, I drove the car extensively and on Mon 10 Oct, I emailed Eugene with some feedback and asked if the gear shift pattern could be further changed. No response, which is the complete opposite to the super prompt replies when I still hadn't handed over my money yet. I then called in a few times to request a discussion with Eugene but (as expected) there was no call back.
Over the past couple of years, I have slowly increased my knowledge about engine tuning and mods. My guess now is that Eugene had simply pre-loaded one of the existing engine tuning software out there. The independent workshop which I've now been going to, was able to manually change the gear shift points for me.
I have since avoided going back to AVANTAGE VAG due to this utter lack of customer service. The moment you have paid, this workshop will just ignore you and leave you in the dark. There are many other workshops out there which are not only technically proficient but also provide excellent customer service.
This is not a fake review "Hit job" By a jealous competitor, I still have the invoice and entire email chain as proof.
