Very bad experience for my accident repair  Posted on 15-Mar-2024
My accident repair took 4 months! I got them because it was in the NTUC Income authorized workshop list. Since I am unable to determine if its own or 3rd party claim, I decided with an authorized workshop. Little did I know the ordeal I will experience. During this time, there was very little update and when I called, the collection date kept getting pushed by 2-3 weeks. My car was towed to the workshop mid-Nov. The original date was "Try" To give me before Christmas, then mid-Jan, then before Chinese New Year, then end Feb and finally I collected my car mid-Mar. Throughout this period, I was given a 5 seater but my family is 6-7 pax so we had to either take public transport or me making 2 trips if it's near. This is throughout the Dec holidays and Chinese New Year which I desperately need to ferry my family. Despite requesting repeatly, they told me they do not have a 6-7 seater. This is a 3rd party claim so can't they arrange and claim?? The person in-charge did not contact me to explain what was done until I insisted him to call me back, and that is after 4 months. Through this period, my only contact is the admin person who relays the messages. Often, I had to chase a few times to get the answers but I understand it's not her fault. Upon collection, I found scratches at the dashboard areas which I am still trying to get them to remedy. It's a nightmare 4 months for me and it doesn't look like it'll end soon.

Recommended workshop for repair works  Posted on 30-Apr-2017

I was involved in a chain collision accident and was the 3rd of 8 cars and my front and rear were knocked in...Brought my car to the workshop authorised by my insurance company and the workshop advised me to scrap the car as my car only has 2 years left for my COE and their chief mechanic say not worth economic repairs.
My usual mechanic took a look at my car and assess that its repairable as there do not seem to be any damage to the chassis or the engine...He recommended me to chew goon for 3rd party claims...I went over to chew goon and shared the story of the initial assessment by the first workshop and they took a look at the car and they assess that full repair is possible..Left the car at the workshop for a about 2 mths as they have a few other projects on hand..Didnt want to chase them as my priority was to have my car done up nicely...Besides they also provided a replacement car so my daily work commute was covered and no rush to have my own car back...When i went back to collect my car, i was very impressed with their work...Their service was also prompt after i found an issue with the repairs after having driven the car for a week...Drove the car back and they found the issue and fixed it on the spot.. Will happily go back to them for repairs in the future =) although i must admit that some of their mechanics may not be as friendly as the service staff =) but you dun deal with the mechanics directly =)

Some inconsiderate lorry or bus knock onto the rear of my vehicle and disappeared . My insurance company referred me to this repair centre to do an accident reporting.
These people were great to work with from the start.
Eric was the first contact I spoke with over the phone and met. He was nice and gave me a quote after i requested. The quote was a reasonable one because i did repair on the rear bumper few months back at my regular workshop after my wife reverse and knock onto a pillar. The next day I got a nice call from Eric to be picked up. My car is ready in one day instead of two. Nice people. Very good quality work, and done fast! I will recommend them anyone. I will be using them since they are nearer to my workplace

I went to Chew Goon Motor after being recommended by a friend who use them for his repairs. I felt that Alan, the person that assist me genuinely cared about his work. Being lost after knocking into a the front of a BMW early in the morning. He guided me through the process and professionally advise me on the options available to me. In the end, I did get the work done through them and opt for the non insurance claim method. I couldn't have been happier with the experience. The courtesy cars were ready when needed. Both our cars look brand new when i went down to collect with the person i knock into the day after 3 days. The person i knocked into even commented that he is very satisfy with the repair and would send his wife's car respray. Hands down. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy repair shop. While I hope i need not to need their services again for a while, I would not hesitate to go back whenever I need.

Lousy servicing skills and customer service  Posted on 16-Apr-2014

Recently I fail my inspection due to misalignment. As I know the issue was most likely due to my front wheel bearing and shock absorber (told by previous servicing in malaysia), I have decided to purchase the item and fix it in singapore instead of Malaysia as it was too time consuming to do it in Malaysia as I need to pass the inspection ASAP before my road tax expired.

And so I was recommended to this workshop by a ex-colleague and was told the boss, was my ex colleague secondary school friend. Went there, told him who intro me to his workshop, tell him what I want and specifically told him to do a wheel alignment if the alignment is out. Boss say ok and ask me to collect the vechicle 5-6hrs from 11am. So I went off and waited patiently for my car to get repair.

So the time came, but when I collected and test my car, I heard a very loud sceeching sound from my front wheel, I immediately went back to the workshop and try to question why does the vehicle gives out such a loud sound while moving. They check, then jack up my car, then push some plate in the front whee and then say ok. Didn't even bother to tell me what was wrong and why it happen. Already lose 50% confidence in them liao.

Then as I drive more and more, I realise instead of better alignment, its seems that the alignment was getting worse!! I spent a total of workmanship of $150 , but instead of solving the problem, they make the issue worse. The boss or the technician who work on my car was not even there to explain to me or tell me what was done on my car. Even though I told the boss to do the alignment for me if needed, but yet no alignment was done at all!!

No, no, no...the story does not end here. After 1 and a half mth later, while I was driving, I notice that my front wheel was giving a very loud noise when I was travelling at 80-90km/h. Sensing something was wrong, I went to the workshop in malaysia and ask them to check for me. Especially on the front wheel bearing. And of cause, my guess was correct. The bearing was damage during the installation due to incorrect pressing. The correct way was using some special tools to do the pressing, but from the wheel bearing, it seems like it was press in just by a spanner or a screw driver. There was such an obvious dent on the wheel bearing.

I have warn the others never to go to this workshop for any servicing or repair work as their workmanship is so bad and the boss simply don't bother about your car. I have seen the workshop has 3 or 4 shop under their name, I believe it only surviving because of insurance claims. 10 years down the road, if the shop really wana survive, they better brush up their technician skills and their customer service.

No doubts about it. They are one of the most reliable and trustworthy workshops around. Been a car owner for years, i have quite an experience with a lot of workshops, but none of them as professional as them. I was most impressed with their customer service. They kept me very well informed about my car when i sent there for repair. What to change, what is spoiled, change to what, the charges for this and that, and the available options i have. Nothing will proceed without my approval and that's what i call "True Customer Service". Everything is explained to me clearly and there are no hidden charges. I felt secure knowing my car are in the best hand and my pockets still safe. Will definitely recommend to all my frens and you, who is reading this review.

To all who are reading this comment review. I was driving in right at AMK Autopoint in the morning, looking for a spray painting job for my Civic Front lip. This workshop provides fast and good workmanship on the service. Best part, after 30 minutes when i go back to collect my car, i realise i did not have cash in my wallet, offered to leave my driver's license behind before i go and draw cash from ATM, the guy at the workshop insisted he trust me and said it was all right. I know to spray a civic front lip takes a short while, but just wanted to say trust is a key role in ensuring good customers to go back for more services. Not sure what the guy's name is but hey, excellent service and workmanship... Thanks and thumbs up to Chew Goon Motors :)
