Zeekr unveils the new 9X luxury SUV

At the 2025 Auto Shanghai, Zeekr officially pulled the covers off its new flagship luxury SUV - the Zeekr 9X.
If it bears immediate resemblance to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, that is perhaps not unintentional on the brand's part. While not perhaps explicitly saying so, the brand has clear desires to move further upmarket and continue to pursue a more luxury positioning, and to take the fight to established luxury players including the likes of Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Range Rover.
The 9X showcases that emphatically. Like the 009, the 9X features a large rectangular grille at the front (in fact the brand claims this is the largest front grille in the world right now), and the car's significant dimensions also means that the brand can lay claim to another 'largest in the world claim' - the world's largest front bonnet.
42,242 laser-engraved, diamond-cut lamp facets create a remarkable lighting effect that the brand calls a "starry sky"
The rectangularity of the car is impossible to overlook - contributing both to its significant physical size, as well as visual presence. Drawing design inspiration from the world of yachts (sounds familiar, no?), the 9X features a distinctive silver trim element that wraps around the windows and across the C-pillars. The car also features 42,242 laser-engraved, diamond-cut lamp facets across its head lights and taillights, which create what the brand calls a "starry sky" effect.
Where the 9X represents a notable departure from the rest of the brand's current product lineup is with its powertrain - this model marks the debut of the brand's hybrid powertrain, what it calls a 'Super Hybrid'. The system is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup that pairs two electric motors, a CATL Xiaoyao battery, as well as a 2.0-litre engine. Zeekr claims that the car has an all-electric range of over 380km, which is significant because PHEVs typically have quite a limited all-electric range. And performance is expectedly rapid - 0-100km/h takes just 3 seconds.
Luxury is also all about comfort, and to that end the 9X features dual-chamber air suspension and active stabiliser bars. The 9X also marks the debut of Zeekr's G-Pilot H9 autonomous driving system. Powered by dual Thor chips, 5 LiDAR sensors and 1,400 TOPS of computing power, it will enable advanced Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities.
The Zeekr 9X is set for a global product launch in Q3 2025, but its availability for Singapore is currently unconfirmed. According to a Zeekr representative, Singapore will get a large Zeekr SUV, but it will be either this 9X, or another yet-to-be-announced model (likely called the 8X, which understandably will occupy the space between the 7X and this 9X segment-wise).
