Volvo has revealed new details of the EM90 all-electric MPV ahead of the car's international debut, scheduled for 12 November 2023.
The firm reveals that the new EM90 will be built around a strong safety cage, made from various forms of high-strength steel including boron steel that will help it to offset the impact from a possible crash. The car will also get double A-pillars to give the driver a clear field of vision.
These safety features will be bolstered by a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems, enabled by a sensor set that includes high-definition cameras, surround view cameras, a millimetre-wave radar, and ultrasonic sensors. Volvo additionally states that the EM90 will come with state-of-the-art battery protection technologies including the use of a strong aluminium and steel structure that will enable safe and stable performance in real-world crash scenarios.
In the cabin, the Volvo EM90 will come with air purification technology as standard, ensuring that the air within it cleaner than the air outside. This air purification technology is said to be able to remove up to 95% of PM2.5 particulates. Finally, the all-electric MPV is also set to feature a premium Bowers and Wilkins 21-speaker system. The car will feature headrests complete with built-in speakers, and will deliver high-fidelity audio with 3D sound, supported by 2,460W of power.
The Volvo EM90 will be available firstly in China before being introduced to other markets. Volvo states that it will take in pre-orders for the car from customers in China just after the car makes its debut on 12 November 2023. Interested?
