The all new Ssangyong Musso Grand and Musso Sports launched in Singapore

The new Ssangyong Musso was launched at the Motorway showroom on Friday, 25 October. The all new multi-purpose truck is available in two variants, the Musso Sports and the Musso Grand, which features increased cargo space thanks to a longer wheelbase.

The all new Musso Sports and Musso Grand is SsangYong's latest offering in the competitive pick-up truck market segment. 'Musso' translates to rhinoceros in Korean and it couldn't be a more fitting name for this hardy and capable truck.

The new Musso is built on the same architecture as the new Ssangyong Rexton, sharing a body-on-frame construction that is not only extremely strong, but also delivers excellent off-road driving performance.

The new Musso features a sharp and bold front fascia with curves that present a strong and robust look. A chrome trim across the front grille, along with refined headlamps with integrated LED positioning lights completes the exquisite front end that you will not expect to find on a utilitarian pick-up truck.

Unlike other pick-up trucks in the market, the Musso is not only designed as a workhorse in mind, in fact, it is also designed to carry passengers in comfort and style while securely carrying loads. The Musso combines a five-seat double-cab body style with a high capacity load deck with the Musso Grand offering 1,262 litres of space, while the Musso Sports offers 1,011 litres of cargo space. This makes the Musso an excellent vehicle whether for work, as a sports utility truck or a passenger car to ferry the family in comfort.

Inside, the Musso Sports and Musso Grand brings the refinement and modern ambiance of a passenger car. It features soft-textured Nappa leather seats, which can be adjusted to three different levels of firmness. The second row of seats are designed for three passengers in mind, with ample leg and elbow room.

Both the Musso Sports and the longer Musso Grand are powered by a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that delivers a maximum power of 178bhp and a strong 400Nm of torque. This highly efficient and quiet engine delivers progressive acceleration and strong low-end torque while conforming to Euro 6 emission regulations.

The Musso is also available with either a six-speed manual or an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission. On top of that, both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options are available.

With high-strength steel used in the construction of the Musso's Quad-frame, it is much stiffer than its competitors. It uses 1.5Gpa-grade ultra-strength steel that greatly improves body strength. The noise, vibration and harshness on the Musso are also better managed due to its eight body mounts and polyester wheel-arch linings.

The SsangYong Musso Sports and Musso Grand is a versatile truck that not only offers a large cargo capacity, but also the ability to ferry passengers in comfort.
