Sumitomo Mitsui Auto Service, Japan (SMAS) and Tribecar have announced a partnership to develop car-sharing services and technology in Singapore and in the region.
With experience in managing over a million vehicles across Japan, Australia, India, Indonesia, and Thailand, SMAS offers a range of automotive solutions, which includes fleet management, cost optimisation, and sustainable fleet development. As the only car-sharing service provider in Singapore offering a fleet of 1,500 vehicles - including passenger cars, commercial vans, and motorcycles - Tribecar's range of options is able to cater to the needs of many, including PHV and commercial operators.
By joining forces with Tribecar, SMAS believes it will gain access to cutting-edge car-sharing technologies and expertise, expediting the development of personal mobility solutions across the region. In addition, SMAS has acquired a minority stake in Tribecar, strengthening its commitment to sustainable mobility - in line with its broader goal of expanding its portfolio of environmentally friendly technology solutions.
SMAS intends to trial the technology by Tribecar in 2025, and in commemoration of this new partnership, Tribecar customers can look forward to exciting new discounts and services.
