Steve Saxty launches new three-book set on BMW design

Acclaimed Automotive Author Steve Saxty has launched a new three-book set, titled BMW Behind The Scenes, that provides a deep insight into BMW design.

The set comprises of what is described as very high-quality books which come complete with hundreds of unseen photos and designers' sketches. They also include first-hand, the designers' stories behind BMW's most iconic models spanning 80 years.

The books feature hundreds of unseen photographs and design sketches, alongside a host of untold stories from the designers themselves

The set starts with the first book, BMW by Design, which showcases the cars that saved the company after World War Two before heading onto the firm's iconic models such as the CSL and the first 3 Series and 5 Series as well as modern-day BMW concept cars, right through to the latest Vision Neue Klasse.

The second book of the set, titled BMW's Hidden Gems, is described as a trove of previously unseen material, and includes never-before published artwork given to Saxty by 1970s design maestro Paul Bracq and nine other unseen gems from within BMW.

Finally, the third book, titled BMW Art by Design, features the drawings of designers selected by Head of BMW Group Design Adrian van Hooydonk, alongside the back stories and techniques behind the selected pieces of automotive art.
