Royal Enfield Singapore has debuted the Super Meteor 650, the brand's top-of-the-line model.
The Super Meteor 650 is a cruiser that debuts several Royal Enfield firsts. It is the brand's first model to have an LED headlamp as standard, new plated aluminium switch cubes, and adjustable clutch and brake levers.
Developed in conjunction with Royal Enfield-owned Harris Performance at the brand's U.K. Technology Centre, the Super Meteor 650 chassis is constructed from steel. It has an all-new frame and swingarm and is also the first bike from Royal Enfield with upside-down forks. These forks have 120mm of travel.
Meanwhile, the rear shocks have 101mm of travel and offer five steps of preload adjustment to help the rider adapt the bike to his or her weight and riding style. The bike utilises a 19-inch front wheel and 16-inch rear wheel, and it has a low saddle height of 740mm.
Facing the rider are a new speedometer with a 'floating' needle and for convenience, Royal Enfield's Tripper navigation pod, which syncs to the rider's smartphone via Bluetooth, is now standard.
Digital-analogue speedometer displays pertinent information, while Tripper pod (right) can provide turn-by-turn navigation
Powering the Super Meteor 650 is the familiar 648cc air and oil-cooled parallel twin producing 46bhp (34.6kW) at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm. Helping the bike shed speed are a single 320mm brake disc in front and 300mm disc in the rear, both of which are equipped with two-piston callipers.
In Singapore, the Super Meteor 650 is available in three variants: Astral, Interstellar and Celestial. The Astral comes in a single hue, while the Interstellar comes in a dual-tone colour. The top-spec Celestial comes in dual-tones and is also equipped with a touring screen, deluxe touring seats and a padded backrest.
Prices currently start from $15,900 without COE.
