Peugeot has revealed a new e-3008.
Now based on a new STLA Medium platform from Stellantis, the electric crossover now measures in at 4,542mm long, 1,895mm wide and 1,641mm tall, making it larger all around than the outgoing Peugeot 3008.
Also completely new for the crossover is its exterior design. Here, the brand's signature three-claw light signature has been retained, however, these now sit below head lights that have been dramatically slimmed down.
A new grille that appears to radiate from the centrally mounted crest also now dominates visual attention at the front. The car also now gets a fastback-like silhouette that ends in a spoiler that appears to float above the rear windscreen.
The new car has also abandoned the use of chrome parts, and instead utilises lacquered exterior pieces. These include the front apron and rear bumper and the mirror caps.
In the cabin, the new Peugeot e-3008 now utilises a 21-inch curved panoramic display that is slightly angled towards the driver for optimised ergonomics. The centre section of this screen will offer both the driver and front passenger access to the vehicle's heating/air conditioning, navigation, and media/connectivity settings. The section of the screen ahead of the driver, meanwhile, will display all the necessary driving information.
The centre section of the dashboard also offers what Peugeot terms as the 'i-Toggles' - a row of fully customisable touch-sensitive buttons that can be programmed to provide quick access to 10 of the user's favourite functions.
A premium Focal Premium sound system comprising of 10 speakers delivering a combined output of 690W through a 12-channel amplifier will also be available for the crossover.
The Peugeot e-3008 will be offered with three drivetrains. The range starts with a 210bhp unit that sends power to the front wheels and is paired to a 73kWh that allows it to deliver 525km of range. A long-range variant will also be available with an output of 230bhp. This variant gets a 98kWh that allows it to reach a WLTP range of 700km.
Finally, the car will also get a dual-motor variant that puts its total 320bhp output to the road through all four wheels. This variant gets a 73kWh that Peugeot states, will allow it to reach a range of 525km. The battery of the e-3008 can be charged at up to 160kW, which will see the car equipped with the 73kWh battery climbing from 20% to 80% state-of-charge in 30 minutes.
The Peugeot e-3008 will be produced exclusively at the firm's Sochaux plant in France and is scheduled to go on sale in Europe come February 2024.
