Opel has revealed its updated Vivaro light commercial vehicle.
The new vehicle is easily identifiable thanks to the adoption of the Opel Vizor front fascia, familiar from Opel's newest passenger cars such as the Astra. This new front can be paired with LED head lights as an added option.
In the cabin, the vehicle now sports a 10-inch digital driver's instrument cluster as well as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, just as is adopted on the updated Peugeot E-Traveller. The cabin of the Opel Vivaro also now offers a wireless smartphone charging pad.
Opel continues to offer the Vivaro in two body lengths (4.98m and 5.33m), and the Vivaro is available as a panel van, crew cab, and as a platform-chassis to suit a wide variety of work. The vehicle can offer up to 6,600 litres of cargo space and carry a maximum 1.4-ton payload.
The Opel Vivaro Electric comes with either a 50kWh or a 75kWh battery, the latter offering a WLTP range of up to 350km - 20km more than the outgoing model. The Vivaro Electric can be charged at up to 100kW via a direct current charger. This Opel Vivaro Electric utilises a 134bhp electric motor that delivers 260Nm of torque.
A hydrogen-powered option will also be offered, which comes with a range of more than 400km. Diesel-powered variants of the Vivaro will offers a range of outputs from 118bhp to 174bhp.
On the safety front, the vehicle is offered with a new Dynamic Surround Vision feature that utilises two cameras to generate a high-definition image in the digital rear-view mirror. The system is said to offer increased vision, raising safety levels when the driver is manoeuvring the vehicle.
The Opel Vivaro also comes with safety features including forward collision alert with emergency braking, intelligent cruise control, lane keep assist, drowsiness alert, and trailer stability control. Adaptive cruise control with stop and go function is also available as a new option for the Opel Vivaro.
