Oh my! Brabus releases the world's fastest 4-door saloon

The world was stunned when the Bentley Continental Flying Spur announced a top speed of 322 km/h. But Brabus has created a car that will eclipse that speed by a fairly sizeable margin.

Based on the Mercedes S-Class, the 2012 Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 packs a new V12 engine that now weighs in at 6.3 litres (up from 5.5 litres). And it features a special crankshaft, precision-balanced piston rods, high-performance camshafts, and high-flow heads.

That translates into 788-hp, and a gravity-altering 1,047 lb/ft of torque. But apparently, that would affect the earth's rotation. So, Brabus has electronically limited the engine to a maximum torque output of 811 lb/ft.

Thanks to a bunch of electronics, this brute can turn that power into a 0-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds. Keep the go-pedal down and you'll eventually see 350 km/h - pretty amazing for a car that can carry more than 2 people.

Besides the honkin' engine, buyers can spec special interior upgrades, ceramic brakes, and the iBusiness suite of Apple products.

But, with 800-metric horsepower on tap™who cares about an iPod?
