Novitec unveils monster Maserati GranTurismo S

Novitec has put its mark on the Maserati GranTurismo S. Tuned by "NOVITEC TRIDENTE", the newly developed supercharged engine pushes power from the V8 engine up from 440 hp to 600 hp.
The combustion air of the 4.7-litre eight-cylinder engine is supercharged by a mechanical cogged-belt-driven charger with a maximum boost pressure of 0.37 bar. The extensive Novitec Tridente Sport compressor conversion further comprises a water-to-air intercooler, a modified intake system and larger injectors. New mapping for the engine electronics ensures maximum power yield, perfect suitability for daily use and compliance with strict Euro IV emission limits.
The result? It takes just 4.5 seconds to get to 100 km/h (faster than the standard GT S by 0.4 seconds) and 14.6 seconds to hit 200 km/h, beating the "base model" by a good 2.6 seconds. Top speed is at a comfortable 315 km/h. Peak torque has also jumped from 490 Nm to 588 Nm at 5,400 rpm.
Increasing power output by using compressor technology has been the trademark of Novitec since its inception in 1989, and the new Novitec Tridente continues this tradition.
