The new M600 will be powered by a 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 engine supplied by Volvo. Power can be tuned to produce 450, 550 or 650bhp depending on the ECU setting and the car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in an astonishing 3 seconds, up to a top speed of 362km/h.
The reason for the impressive performance figures is due to the car's weight, with the M600 weighing in at just 1275kg, thanks to the use of lightweight construction materials such as a stainless steel tub, a steel tube skeleton and chassis, and carbon fibre body panels.
The M600 also has a 60/40 rear weight distribution for optimum handling prowess, as well as fixed-rate dampers, a fixed-ratio steering system and Alcon brakes with iron discs which have limited servo assistance so that they have plenty of feel and are easy to modulate. A switchable traction control system, as well as the absence of driver aids such as ESP and ABS, makes the M600 a true driver's car. A standard six-speed manual gearbox, with no semi-automatic option, is also part of the package.
"This is a car designed to provide a pure and uncorrupted driving experience that you're totally in control of," said Noble managing director Peter Boutwood. "The driving experience we've targeted is closer to that of a Ferrari F40 or a McLaren F1 than those of more modern, more 'civilised' supercars. The M600 will do nothing on the driver's behalf."
The Noble M600 is expected to start production soon, with the first cars to go on sale before the end of the year.
