NIO has unveiled the first details of its ET9 at NIO Day 2023, held in Xi'an, China.
The all-electric flagship sedan stretches out at a total of 5,325mm, and measures 2,016mm wide and 1,620mm tall (for comparison, that's just a few millimetres short of the BMW i7 when it comes to total length, but just a smidgen wider).
Sporting a four-seat layout, the NIO ET9 comes with a 360-degree versatile tray table for the passengers in the rear seats. These seats also offer a maximum backrest adjustment angle of 45 degrees, come with a cushion width of 582mm, and offer 11 ways of adjustment. NIO also states that the ET9 comes with a total of seven electric sunshades, so you can control exactly how much sunlight should pour into the cabin.
The NIO ET9 also makes use of the firm's SkyRide Intelligent Chassis System, which combines steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, and full active suspension, allowing the car to deliver a driving experience akin to traveling on a flat surface.
Underpinning the NIO ET9 is a 900V architecture that is said to offer charging speeds of up to 600kW, which can deliver 255km of range in just five minutes of charging. Of course, NIO users will also be able to perform a battery swap in just three minutes, should they need more range still.
The NIO ET9 is already available for pre-order in China, although first deliveries are only expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
