Mazda adds Rhodium White to line of signature colours

Mazda’s efforts to become a new premium brand has received yet another push with the introduction of a new signature body colour: Rhodium White.

The new colour joins the already famous Mazda Soul Red Crystal and Machine Grey, and is set to debut on the new Mazda CX-60, following which it will also appear on the next few upcoming models that sit atop Mazda's Large Product group.

This Rhodium White exterior paint is applied via a process Mazda calls Takuminuri (Takumi being Japanese for 'master craftsman', while Nuri, Japanese for 'painting'). As with the other two signature colours, this Rhodium White is designed to deliver a rich depth and radiance, highlighting the curves and lines of the car.

Unlike other white vehicle paints, this Rhodium White also utilises a newly developed pigment that is able to reduce the thickness of the clear coat by as much as 30%, without letting the undercoat show through, contributing to efficient use of resources and a reduction of CO₂ emissions during the production process, while still delivering a silky smooth, fine-grain white.
