Koenigsegg One:1 living up to its name of 1bhp per kg

Monikers for cars are hard to grasp, sometimes it doesn't even make sense, yet of course, most of them are forgiven with their performance on the road or its aesthetics to compensate for a sorry name. Well, the Koenigsegg One:1 is much simpler to understand. It will have a 1kg /1bhp ratio, hence the 'One:1' designation. Now that's truly a 'no-brainer', a little break for our complex minds.
In an interview with carsuk.net, Christian von Koenigsegg said that the model will be limited to five units. To reach that power-to-weight ratio, the supercar will lose some weight and its engine will probably output somewhere around 1250bhp - 1350bhp, a signficant improvement over the Agera R at 1140bhp. With a kerb weight of 1,290 kg, the Agera R has a power-to-weight ratio of 0.88 bhp/kg.
The One:1 will retain the same twin-turbo V8 5.0-litre engine, but design will be significantly changed over the recent special/limited editions. It will ride on carbon fibre wheels and feature a new front fascia with a lower front splitter, along with a fixed carbon fibre roof that has an air scoop. The back of the car will get a redesigned diffuser and wing.
